Thailand

Our partner for Thailand and Myanmar, Edwin, has lived and worked in these two majestic countries for more than twenty years. Edwin is an old friend of Hidden Worlds Travel; founder Maximillian and he developed a close working relationship over more than a decade of collaboration in Myanmar travel and we have even embarked on a few adventures of our own (driving through the arid and beautiful peaks of Central Asia in his Toyota being perhaps the best). With our combined expertise and passion, you genuinely could not be in better hands for a trip to the two jewels of east Asia.

We believe that while Bangkok’s bustling streets are a must-see, the wise traveler will find time to visit the lesser-known ancient city of Ayutthaya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site teeming with historic temples and ruins. Trek through the northern mountains to reach the Golden Triangle, where Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar converge—it’s a region rich in culture and history. For a more serene beach experience, head to the island of Koh Lanta, which offers beautiful beaches without the crowds.

Tragically, Myanmar has suffered enormously due to the civil war and travel there is currently difficult. We hope that one day soon the country will find peace and we will be in the privileged position to bring travelers back to this wonderful country. When we do, we could think of nothing more peaceful than exploring the mystical temples of Bagan at sunrise for a breathtaking view and a profound sense of history. We also hope that soon we will once again be leading treks through the Chin Hills, where you can meet the unique Chin tribes known for their facial tattoos and vibrant traditions, and venturing to the remote Naga Hills in the north, where you can experience the rich culture of the Naga tribes and enjoy stunning landscapes.
