Our partner for Cambodia, Steve, first visited the country in the less happy days of the civil war in 1994. He returned full time in 2011 and has specialized in Cambodia travel since then. He now lives in a traditional wooden house outside Siem Reap and spends much of his own time exploring the quieter backways of this lovely region. In keeping with the Hidden Worlds Travel ethos, we know Steve well and have a deep trust in his expertise and knowledge.

It would be remiss not to mention that our founder Maximillian’s hot air ballon company, Cambodia Balloon Adventures, is also based in Siem Reap. With that in mind, we gently insist that you join us to experience the breathtaking beauty of Angkor Wat from the unique vantage point of one of our balloons, taking in panoramic views of the ancient temple complex and the surrounding lush landscape. After that, perhaps you would like to explore the lesser-known Cardamom Mountains in southwestern Cambodia, where you can trek through dense rainforests, discover hidden waterfalls, and encounter diverse wildlife, providing a serene escape from the more touristy areas.
